weekend, one day late // Trunk Club Round 6

July 17, 2018
My parents are back in Philadelphia (they stayed 6 days) and life has returned to normal in our house, which is quite bittersweet.  It was one of those weekends where things just flowed from one to the next, and everyone had such a good time!
We packed in:
– Frost museum trip
– an adult dinner out (at Byblos, one of our favorite ‘fancy’ places)
– Mango festival @ Fairchild Tropical Gardens
– brunch w/ both sets of grandparents
– a family dinner (Sunday) with my aunt / cousins / their kids
– plus Annabel had piano Saturday + I snuck in a workout Sunday AM.
That sounds like a lot but somehow it didn’t feel rushed.  The big kids were generally really well behaved and fun to be around.  G continues to be delicious*.  Really, it was a weekend for the books.
My MIL remarked that I seem more relaxed (I think just in general) after having G.  This made me happy.  I do think there is something about the sheer number of inputs that has led to a calmness / acceptance of chaos that perhaps wasn’t there before.  I will say this calm is contingent on a) getting workouts in b) getting at least some sleep and c) not being on call.

This about sums up the trip!
Happy kids.

We fit all 7 of us in our car!  We resisted a bigger car until G was born but it does come in handy . . .

I also got a Trunk – my first since December 16!  I was hoping for some comfy dresses and travel-wear, but mostly struck out.  I did keep this t-shirt:
Madewell, $24.50
I’m still debating these shorts.
I posted them on Instagram and got multiple enthusiastic YESes and NOs.
I am perhaps too old for them but I do live in MIA where these would be considered long.
T is great but toooooo overpriced ($85, sorry Rag & Bone but I am too afraid it will be annointed with spit up in 5 minutes to invest!)
I love the shoes pictured (Seavees) and bought them.

JUST NO.
If you do try Trunk Club and feel moved to use my code, it’s here.  My stylist is Madeline.  She is very nice and responsive even if she did select the above dress.
OKAY.  Today begins another call week – last until September!  And I’m about to do a workout with many burpees.  Wish me luck.
* Still waking up 1-2x every night to eat — mostly 2 lately — but somehow she’s cute enough and it all feels transient enough, so she gets away with it.

Also a hard no on the shorts. But they are very Miami ( you look great, but no…)

I love that madewell tee. My SIL was wearing this weekend and I just ordered.

A”s hair is gorgeous! I love it in the topknot. And those teeth – so cute.

    No on the denim shorts.

Aw man! You’re making me feel guilty about "promoting" Dyl up to a booster seat. Impressed that you’ve been able to keep Annabel in one for so long!

Sounds like an otherwise lovely weekend!

She doesn”t care 🙂 I”ll probably transition both kids at once at some point – the seat we have has a really high weight limit so I”m in no hurry!

Although since you just motivated me to look, we are right up against limit of LATCH system (car seat PLUS kid need to be under 65 lb when LATCH used). Car seat is 21 lbs so . . .I guess we need to reinstall without latch! I think she’s right around 45 lb mark.

No on the shorts. Our son is 45 lbs and still in a car seat. Ours goes to 75 or 80 lbs and he’s not complaining. We recently switched to seat belt installation
