flexibility isn't really my thing
no, not in the literal nor the figurative sense.

but both sides are probably something i should work on.

i'm not a failure if my heels are 6 inches off of the ground in down dog.

i'm not a lazy person if i didn't get up in time to work out this morning.

i'm not a stupid person just because i am 2 days behind in my study plan.

i am not a negligent chef (uhh, or wife) just because i turned last night's planned salmon cakes . . .

into a much easier (improvisational) salmon salad.

i am definitely not a bad person for sleeping 10 hours last night. even if i did accidentally sleep through my alarm.

so i hope you all continue to forgive me for another less-than-perfect post! i do feel better now after that long (unintentional) night of rest, so maybe i'll have some of my mojo back today. i can't believe it's already wednesday!

i TOTALLY get it
yesterday, susan mc made my day when she wrote:
"You will think this is totally whack... or you will TOTALLY get it...
but where oh where did you get the spiral notebook featured in your "organization" tab in the extra hour section that is graph paper AND... wait for it...
different colored tabbed sections behind it?
I am in love and totally coveting that notebook!"

susan, i have to tell you, i had the EXACT same reaction when i saw it in some random store one day. i think i got it at morgan imports in durham. it is an 11 x 17 cm graph-lined notebook (small) with 8 subject tabs (just 6 pages each) in 4 pastel colors. i just did a little digging and it still exists!

one online option to buy: here.

off to work
what an accelerated morning! i can't say i am a fan of this rush. hopefully that extra REM cycle will pay off . . .

yay for extra sleep! i'm sure it'll pay off big somehow :)

and that dinner looks totally fabulous. so what if it was easier?! that makes it even more fabulous :)

  2. Paying off some sleep debt is never overrated. Hope you have a good day.

  3. I totally need to work on my flexibility (litarally and figuratively ;) ) too! The good thing is that it increases with conditioning (let's hope that's true figuratively as well). The salmon salad sounds delicious!

I think you will enjoy this NY Times article, if you haven't already seen it.

Hope your day goes better than the last few!

  5. I have been feeling super frazzled and fried. I know a lack of sleep has something to do with it. I'm hoping for a solid 10 hours tonight!

  6. sorry i'm always about a day late and a dollar short to your comment parties, but I NEVER THOUGHT YOU WERE PERFECT! ha ha ha does that help?? :^) no seriously, don't be so hard on yourself for your perceived imperfections. you're very genuine on your blog so don't worry about that either. i like this post; positive self-talk is something i've really been working on too! my tiny little voice (tlv) can be so RUDE and HATEFUL and i've really been working on shutting 'er down. do what you do girl---it's what makes you YOU! (and you're a GREAT you!) xxoo

  7. Sometimes we aren't perfect (surprise, surprise), and when we happen to be less-than-perfect, its good to sit back and realize that its OKAY.

It doesn't make you any less of a person, it just makes you human :)

Oh girl you just made MY day!! Thank you SO much for the link... just hit send for 2 (yes!) of those precious notebooks... now on their way to Atlanta GA! Hope this doesn't sound stalker-ish weird, but I also ordered a Space 24 for 2011. Decided my Franklin is just too bulky and I'm all about sleek and clean in this life phase.
Thanks for the shout-out and the ongoing inspiration to stay excited about organizing!
