it’s josh’s birthday today! we had the world’s earliest birthday celebration at 5 am this morning (hey, he had to go to work!). as per tradition, i made him a birthday powerpoint (rather than card). he also got a poem, which i will share in his honor:
this year i thought that i might rhyme
my bday wish for you this time!
i can’t believe you’re thirty-four
so sweet, so innocent, so pure . . .
you work hard each and every day
but always greet me in the best way
with a smile and a kiss and all your attention
(except when playing a game i won’t mention)
you are the nicest, the cutest, the best
to find a gift worthy of you was a quest
for all your training to be a surgeon
i thought that it would be worth splurgin’
the question is: what would clinton kelly think?
well, he might say to wear more pink!
but otherwise, he would say you’re so sexy it hurts
in your new brooks brothers, iron-free SHIRTS!
there were pictures, too, but i will spare you. instead, here is a mini sarah/josh photo gallery: (i tried to find shots with just him, but most were US, so i went with it!)
just being cute: (we look so young here i think!)
i’m off to the gym now for a quick interval run. i have endocrine clinic today (yay!), then some A/I, and then tonight we are going to celebrate at our local belgian beer bar, milltown. yay!

run: 10 miles with s., a., and j. it was cold (there was even some ice) but at least the sun was out! we saw deer prancing across the trail, a flock of geese, and some poor lady who had parked in a slightly sketchy area and had her window smashed and purse stolen. oh, durham.
pace was average 9:30/mi, but i did the first 2 miles faster and the overall time also includes a longish conversation we had with the poor woman mentioned above who was waiting for the police.
doin’ time: allll right! i kicked my project off with mediterranean chicken stew with polenta, which we had superlate (ie, 9:15 pm) after josh finished his basketball game. it was homey and comforting and i have a feeling it will be better today once the flavors have melded a bit. i actually threw in some spinach rather than cooking spinach separately on the side, because . . . it was late and i got lazy. it was fairly easy to make, though!

Such a cute post! I love the poem and the fact that you made a birthday “powerpoint.” Ha!

You are cute.
Happy Birthday, Josh.
Oh and what a small world. Next time we’re in Philly, we’re going to Fellini’s!
