. . . and both kids are still asleep!  Some kind of miracle?  Anyway, I figured I would check in.  I had grand plans for a GTD-esque post on my current fave stationery tools (it’s in draft), but then I came down with some viral #!(*&$ and when that happens, my brain always turns to mush.  I have one of those colds where you just want to lie on the couch with 94823 tissues and watch movies, but you know . . .

Yep, those days are in my past.  At least they are cute.

All that said, Josh has been very helpful and I even took a nap yesterday.  Today I woke up at 5 (nose clogged beyond belief, just so uncomfortable to lie down), medicated, and was actually rather productive clearing out the ol’ inboxes & such.  So hopefully I will be able to sort of participate in life today — yesterday I felt like I was just watching healthy people run around from the sidelines.

Let’s see . . . what has been going on?  Friday night was movie night for A&C (now a ritual, and in this case necessary b/c Josh was still at work and I was dying).  Last night Josh and I watched Everybody Wants Some!! which I highly recommend especially if you like Richard Linklater movies (which I absolutely do).

Yesterday = a lot of couch time.  BUT I did receive some new pens (Stabilo 88s, THIRTY colors) in the mail, so there was that — as shown in the C picture above, it was like Amazon Christmas due to some self-pity ordering on Thursday when I realized that I was sick, like, for real.  And we had takeout sushi which always feels incredibly luxurious for some reason.  Oh!  And Annabel went to sleep for the first time in months without Josh or me lying on her floor*.  We employed both a reading lamp (from the aforementioned Amazon delivery) and a sticker chart (crafted with my new pens, obviously).

so many colorrrrrrsssss

So yeah, I am getting over a gross summer cold, but I can’t complain.  Especially because it is 7:19 AM and they are both still asleep?
OMG.  Here’s to DayQuil, coffee, lotion-infused tissues and new pens!  Happy Sunday . . .

* Very very very bad habit.  We didn’t mind doing it until her bedtime became so late that it was encroaching on mine.

For what it’s worth, part of the plan developed at the ped sleep clinic for my son was to have me sit in the rocking chair at bedtime. makes the whole routine much faster. I usually read on the iPad. Most nights he’s out within 15 min, which is very different from several hours of antics we used to have…
