the blogging "process"

Someone previously inquired as to my blogging process.  Surely, since I am just a tad bit systematic and (sometimes) obsessive in some other realms, I have some sort of blogging calendar, and organization scheme to it all, right?

Well . . . no.  I DID put together a calendar for the first time this year, and it is fun to have a list of topics to draw from.  However, I really tend to enjoy posting most when it's just . . . spontaneous.  Off the cuff.  Related to what I am feeling passionate about at any given moment.  When I try to plan ahead too much, I start to see this whole thing as some sort of assignment or chore, and it loses its appeal.

Lately I have been writing posts in the evening.  If Josh is home on the earlier end, he often has a little time with Annabel while I get to sit and type something out.  Or if I'm flyin' solo, I post while I'm waiting for him to get home.  Pre-kids, the morning was my writing time, but now it's too crowded with running and other things since A&C are usually up by 6:30 or 6:45.

There are no drafts.  I do edit, usually mostly after hitting "publish" when I am scanning the newly-released post and find something grammatically unacceptable.

All that said, happy weekend!  C is sick again :(  -- and breathing fast and hard, as usual.  I think he probably needs inhaled steroids.  I don't know, I have a very hard time objectively evaluating my own kids and tend to panic.  But that's a post for another night -- and not a Friday.

I think Annbabel enjoyed her "snow" day
