Currently Watching

January 27, 2016

Thank you for the comments on yesterday’s post.  I think I need to go back to strict limits on my social media usage – interesting that I feel I can moderate food much better than Facebook.  Ahh well.

I actually proposed ending my blogging streak tonight (feel: tired, impending sickness (UGH), also on call, just generally blah).  However, Josh urged me to finish the month.  Which was somewhat surprising but really nice (he is and always has been very supportive of the blog, but isn’t the type of person to be into “streaks” per se).

SO he suggested that I just make a quick note of the TV show which we are currently watching, which is really really random but totally fun:

A show about mascots. It’s on hulu, so not the easiest to access but we subscribe because I could not go without The Mindy Project.  The subject matter did not sound interesting to me at all, and I am basically a non-sports fan (though I do find basketball rather mesmerizing and will get pumped up for a Duke game just out of nostalgia every now and then).  BUT: the show is great.  Teen awkwardness, adult striving, crazy human stunts, and emotions run high.  Light, quick, easy, but fun.
Other shows we watch:
Fresh off the Boat (love)
Master of None (need more episodes!)
Ballers (for the Miami connection)
Silicon Valley (new episodes in March!)
Catastrophe (waiting for these to come from the UK for season 2)
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (back on in April!)
Any new series / shows anyone else can recommend recently?

The mom on fresh off the boat is soooo funny! Have you seen Happy Endings? It’s also on Hulu and is hilarious.

Do you have Amazon Prime? Mozart in the Jungle is awesome.

I’ve been wanting to watch Fresh off the Boat, but just haven’t gotten around to it 🙂

I currently watch Brooklyn 99 and Mindy (I can’t wait for it to come back!!!) and my treadmill show is "Jane the Virgin" which I’m loving – also has a Miami connection. Dan and I just finished "The Fall" on netflix and we watch Grimm and Downton Abby. That’s really it for us these days. I can’t wait for Game of Thrones and Silicon Valley to come back this spring!

I watch the 10 epidoes of the Game of Thrones each season when they come out. Other than that no TV. But I am seriously considering Downtown Abbey.

Love watching a show at the end of the day, between bedtime chaos with kids & my own bedtime, its a nice way to unwind. we usually have a show ongoing that we’ll watch a few episodes of every week. we’ve watched a LOT of shows over the past 6 years. currently working our way through Breaking Bad—which we are watching more than usual because A) so good and B) winter. Looking forward to new episodes of Kimmy Schmidt, Silicon Valley, and Game of Thrones. when i have time completely to myself I am also slowly working through gilmore girls (I started in 2014) and when I finish that I want to watch Parenthood, which G doesn’t want to watch.
