these are fun once in a while
nothing like a good old fashioned (well, maybe not SO old fashioned) meme for those days when i’m feeling a bit less than inspired! actually, i have plenty to write about, but it’s more about getting my work done, fitting things into the weekend, etc etc ad nauseum, and i’m concerned you all might be tired of hearing me blather on about the same thing like a broken (blogger) record.

so! lifted from the dea diaries (durham fashion blogger extraordinaire):

1. If your life was a movie, what movie would it be?
little grey’s anatomy: stylish pediatric endocrinologist making her way through the NICU, one ambiguous genitalia exam at a time. no, it wouldn’t top the charts, but perhaps the critics would buy in.

(yeah, my life is NOT film-worthy. i’ll stick to this website.)

2. Are you a morning or night person?
i think we all know the answer to that one!

3. What’s the first thing you would do if you won the lottery?
how about the first 5 things?

a) dance around shrieking
b) hire financial planner
c) hit up anthro (and niemann marcus, and saks)
d) buy presents for everyone (with alloted amount dictated by financial planner, above)
e) book weekly massages and hire a cleaning lady, if finances allow.

4. If you could see any concert ever, what would it be?
well, since i’ve already had the chance to see lady gaga . . . the white-album-era beatles would be pretty sweet.

5. Are you a sweet or salty food person?
um, that’s like asking me to choose between my two (not-yet-conceived) children! no, actually, i think i would say salty, with a special exception for frozen yogurt, which i crave above all else (except perhaps wine).

6. What is your favorite clothing purchase you’ve ever made?
currently i am loving on my cherry juice heels. so comfortable and more versatile than one might expect!

this isn’t really fashion-worthy, but i had a sugoi running jacket that i ADORED, until i lost it somewhere in duke hospital.

and finally, i have to throw a shout-out to this little number, since i wore it on a pretty special day:

7. What is your favorite quote?
“pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.” except i can never figure out who to attribute this to!

8. What’s your dream job?
pediatric endocrinologist (except with no call — ha, they said dream!) + pro blogger/writer + mom of 3.

feeling empty of ideas this morning? just in the mood to share? post your own answers + let me know you did, or post answers in the comments!

list woes
hey, guess what? i did NOT get through my to-do list yesterday. it was busy on the wards and after my run i sort of lost motivation. this means i need to get in hardcore presentation-busting mode for today! i am planning on staying at work until at least my powerpoint outline is complete (pasting graphics is easier from my mac).

i was mad at myself for about 5 minutes and then i realized i’ve been accomplishing a lot lately . . . HLS talk done and my first ever grant application submitted yesterday.

also, almost as importantly, i got to watch the first half of white men can’t jump (between calls about glucoses and sodiums). watching early 90s movies (1992: i would have been in 6th grade, josh in 12th) is one of our favorite things to do. rosie perez’s character was my favorite!

8.7.10

workout: 9 miles on the TM (with the newest issue of clean eating — LOVE that mag.) average ~9:00/mi (i varied speeds between 9:13/mi and 8:41/mi throughout).

chef josh: i was tired and getting overwhelmed with pages and trying to finish a discharge summary while josh was enjoying a (much deserved) free weekend day yesterday — so he cooked dinner.

i can vouch for his skillz. there may have been 15324 dirty dishes when he was done, but the lemon pepper shrimp linguine (+ bonus pan-fried okra!) was excellent.

I&#39m always amazed by people who can do things when they run. I think I&#39d be so motion sick if I tried to read and treadmill.

RE dinner dishes- Maybe your top 6 item after you won the lottery should be "get a dishwasher". I think that would be like #3 on my list.

    susan: aww, thank you!

chelsea: do you mean like, an actual PERSON to wash the dishes? b/c we definitely have a dishwasher (the appliance kind). i could NOT live without one.

Reading and running that fast? Impressive! I can barely watch the TV on a treadmill! Josh&#39s dinner looks fabulous – especially the pan fried okra.

Ummm…the white-album-era beatles never gave a concert, unless you count that impromptu 1969 rooftop rehearsal for Let It Be. Just wanted to set the record straight! I LOL at answer 3a. L, da

So did Josh follow a particular recipe for the shrimp pasta dish. If so, will you share it?
