theory of relativity

a study in contrasts
it’s amazing to me how much relativity impacts how we experience things. fretting for months about our work/life issues just made the happy ending that much sweeter (i’m still smiling from ear to ear! and also: a huge thank you to all of you who commented on our good fortune!).

similarly, several weeks of crappy eating (stress-induced, perhaps?) just makes fresh and local salads taste even better.

as part of this complete lunch. man, i love eating lunch at home!
and i’m sure that this last month of call will make my upcoming vacation, GI elective, and (one can only hope?) the rest of my life take on an aura of peace and restfulness.

i will aim to keep my trifecta of call night goals in mind as i head into my extended shift today! i didn’t do all that fabulously last time (particularly with the ‘be calm’ part), but every night is a chance to do a bit better. that’s what goals are for anyway, right?

i love summer clothes
i MUCH prefer dressing in the summer compared to the winter! as much as i try to embrace layers, tights, and sweaters (i’ve given up on boots), there is nothing i prefer to a breezy summer dress and (high heeled, platform) sandals.

newest targets of obsession:

sunwashed dots dress, $128. i want to wear this while whipping up a batch of margaritas and serving them on our patio.

painted hillside tank, $78. yes, it’s pricy. but i love the simple shape and standout print!

the circle the globe skirt ($68) looks like it has promise with a cute a-line shape. and i like the yellow.

guess no one will have to work too hard to figure out what i want for my birthday!

workout: don’t workouts just feel the best after a few days of laziness? another study in contrasts! i wholeheartedly enjoyed my 45 minutes of elliptical (levels 9 – 12) + weights.

– 2 x 12 pushups
– 2 x 12 squats with ball, 10 lb weights
– 2 x 12 bicep curls, 12 lb weights
– 2 x 12 walking double lunges, 8 lb weights
– 2 x 10 lateral/forward raises, 6 lb weights
– 2 x 12 tricep press, 15 lb cable

using up the fridge: i got creative last night and put together this healthy dinner for one (josh is away at a bachelor party, celebrating like he deserves to!).

ww wrap with sweet potato, tempeh, and cheddar; side of fresh local tomato + radish slices. radishes are highly underrated in my opinion! i would like to eat them more.

It was really warm earlier this week, then it got FREEZING, and I started at my closet thinking, "I can&#39t wait for summer…summer clothes are so much cuter!" Maybe it&#39s because I like to show off my runner legs (that&#39s allowed, right? haha), but I think dresses and stuff are so cute! I can&#39t embrace sweaters or anything.
