NICU bound!
if not for my NICU shift, i’d be starting the weekend right now (!!). however, if not for my NICU shift, i would not be getting the chance to earn this:

or, of course, the chance to intubate the entire unit, putting my procedure woes to rest (i can only hope, anyway).

anticipating an up-all-night shift is never fun, but i am determined to make this one a success on multiple fronts:

financial: obvi. pretty much guaranteed, unless i don’t make it through or duke goes bankrupt before my next paycheck

educational: i will try to see this as a learning experience (come on procedures!), plus hopefully if i have some down time i can work on my senior talk.

a mindfulness exercise: it’s one thing to commit to a whole month (or life) of mindfulness, but quite another to try to apply these principles for just one shift. i will aim to do this tonight as best as i can, and will submit a full report tomorrow (race report style with hours instead of miles? we’ll see!)

fashion friday
while anthro is BURSTING with spring outfits, just a couple of things caught my eye today. you all know i LOVE anthro styling but sometimes it’s the simpler pieces that attract me the most! like this tank:

paisley swoop tank, $58
and okay fine, i will not be buying these (because i would look like some sort of circus midget sporting them around). but SOMEONE SHOULD, because they are awesome.

come one, come all booties. just think, maybe it’s YOU who can pull these off!
