HLS recap 1: tastes of the summit
kath says her site isn’t just about food; it’s about her her life — as expressed through food. an interesting concept! i don’t think i’ll ever be a real documentary food blogger — i was amazed at the dedication in which many of the summit attendees faithfully snapped everything they chowed down on throughout the day, but it’s not something that i would want to do! however, for me, trying new and different food IS often one of the highlights of any vacation, and the experience of enjoying that food with others is as important as the taste itself.

so, in honor of the HLS, here is list #1: top 10 tastes of summit weekend!
breakfast! the mix my granola and stonyfield spread hit the spot.

the pesto in this turkey sandwich made it worth eating.

pom juice party! a little antioxidant-filled snack.

but personally i cannot live on juice alone. i broke into my swag bag and enjoyed this strawberry fruition bar — although i thought it was just a little too sweet for my tastes.

it’s boston’s answer to LOYOBOYO, enjoyed with 3 lovely ladies, including bloggers ali and fellow north carolinan whitney

closeup BOYO glamour shot of this kids’ sized banana, blueberry & coconut . . . look at that sad berry all alone!

calzone shared and enjoyed at the crazy-crowded fisherman’s feast

surprisingly drinkable and refreshing watermelon beer (usually i HATE fruit-flavored brews)

CANNOLI! shared with caitlin and then the masses

omg, MMM.

trusty prerun snack, also from my swag bag.

bagels, and then farewell!

what’s that?
are you saying, ‘you’re not a professional blogger; what about your JOB?’ oh yeah, that. well.

i’m back at the regional hospital this week in the level 2 NICU. a TOTAL gear switch! which means that i’m gonig to have to end this post so that i can do a little pre-work cramming. luckily i have a great intern on and there is NO call, so things won’t be so bad. hopefully i’ll be able to get my life back to baseline in the next few days.
