the mommy pager
not only do i have clinic this morning (although i dreamt last night that it ended up being a madhouse, complete with heme-onc and bone marrow transplant patients in addition to the usual riff-raff) stretching long into the night!), but i will be on the so-called “mommy pager” all weekend, starting now.

this is the avenue by which concerned parents at our pediatrics practice can reach a nurse or doctor to ask urgent questions about coughing, rashes, and poop at all hours (including 2 in the morning). they only get to me if the nurse decides they patient needs more guidance than she can provide, so the number of calls that i get is not only dependent on the overall health and well-being of durham’s children, but also the confidence/experience of the covering triage nurse.

i guess we’ll see how things go!

julie & julia
oh, how excited am i for this movie! reading this book is what inspired the doin’ time project in the first place, and i’m so psyched to see the big screen version with the fabulous amy adams (loved her since junebug and meryl strep! josh and i had a discussion last night about movie. to me, there are two reasons to see any film:

— it’s a well-done movie (ie, the wrestler which i recently saw and really liked)

or

— the subject matter is inherently interesting and/or nostalgic. even a BAD movie can be fun to watch if it falls in this category, in my opinion. josh wants to see G.I. Joe for this reason, and also along this vein there is no way i will miss the sex and the city sequel.

julie & julia actually has the potential to fulfill both of the above criteria, making it extra special! we are going to follow the flick with a meal out at rue cler to continue the french theme. i have a feeling it will truly hit the spot after watching the movie.

hopefully the mommy pager won’t be too much of a buzzkill on our night out.

major deegan (we are dog sitting our favorite shih tzu again) encourages you to enter. he uses his notebook collection to track tennis balls found and dog treats consumed. he has a top ten list of territories he would like to mark someday. and he also has a detailed spy journal outlining the activities of his owners, but unfortunately it’s in code.

If I was the triage nurse, you would get every single call that came through…hopefully the nurse has a bit more experience!

I randomly got my mom Julie and Julia for Christmas, and I was so excited when I saw the movie previews! I haven&#39t read the book yet, but I&#39m excited to read it and watch the movie.
