bid on me
as a person who prioritizes my own health and fitness (when possible), i enjoy food/healthy lifestyle blogs for inspiration and new ideas. however, i have to admit that many of them get old after a while. i can only take looking at so many bowls of highly decorated oatmeal before i just want to get the posts OFF of my google reader. there are, however, exceptions to this rule. these include, but are not limited to:
☆ kath from kath eats real food, who in my opinion, has the rare double whammy: an innate gift for giving readers a real slice of her life that is very enjoyable to read, in addition to serious culinary talent. plus, she is super-nice and fun in real life from the times i’ve hung out with her.
☆ heather from hangrypants, who just seems like a very cool person and sometimes reminds me of . . . me.
☆ angela from oh she glows, because her writing is very sweet and sincere, and honestly . . . the girl just glows. she does. she started a trend of drinking green-spiked smoothies that has — in a few short months — ignited a powerful passion for these so-called “green monsters” all the way across the healthy lifestyle blogosphere. personally, i do not plan on joining in, but this just shows her magnetism. i mean, i’ve been posting for almost 5 years and i have yet to see doin’ time or orla kiely madness permeating the masses.
but i’m not bitter. on the contrary, i am happy to occupy my obscure little corner of the interwebs, filling it with running aspirations and pediatric-themed rants. but that doesn’t mean i don’t want to join in on the fun with the above famed bloggers! so when angela announced that she was holding an auction to raise money for cancer research, i decided to jump in and donate something — something that i love, but have an overabundance of.
and of course, that something is stationery!
check out angela’s auction page to read more — my item is #24, the “organize with style” gift pack. and i’m proud to see that there is already a $25 bid! i hope that whoever wins this collection is as big a paper nerd as i am and appreciates the products to the fullest!

as i’ve already (over)stated, i really, REALLY can’t wait to be done with night float. really.

– lat pull-downs with 45 lbs, 2 x 12
– walking double lunges with 8 lb weights, 2 x 10

doin’ time: finally, some martha action! i dressed up her 3-tomato spaghetti recipe (link on the sidebar) with tri-color mini heirloom tomatoes, plus some goat cheese (because sun dried tomatoes + goat cheese are a match made in heaven as far as i am concerned). served with snap peas sprinkled with fresh mint.
reading: none — my slacker day for the week. but i’m still doing quite well this month so far!
flossing: okay, i’m going to take a big step here and say that you can assume i flossed if i don’t write that i didn’t. i promise to admit it if i fall off the wagon!

Not to be all stalker-style, but I do read and enjoy your blog and have never really commented because…I'm lazy. But I started up my own and am now realizing, oh snap, maybe I should write something. I didn't bid because I'm poor, but I still love Orla Kiely. From afar. Through store windows.
The auction is a really neat idea, Sarah! Unfortunately, I learned about it too late to bid on your stationery. I thought I'd give it to Lynn T. Maybe next time…
