it's wednesday afternoon.
my day started off with a bang. there was so much action, in fact, that i even put my morning blogging ritual on the table for later -- unthinkable! actually, i just felt like getting my 7 miler tempo out of the way and for some reason i'm being a total drama queen. but a happy, relaxed drama queen.
did i mention that i was writing from the couch?
i did in fact go to work today (and give my presentation for morning report, which i think went well). and afterwards, i drove to chapel hill because we were supposed to get to observe and discuss the autism screening process at the (rather well-known and respective) autism center there. so i went, but the patient was a teenager and declined the extra observers. i was actually a little sad because i haven't seen testing in an older kid and it would have been interesting, but i wasn't too sad, because . . .
well, i'm rather enjoying the couch. i think a siesta might be in order . . .
workout: on tuesday i took a rest day. i used the morning to finish up my powerpoint instead. plus, i really have trouble gearing up for speedwork when my long run soreness is not completely gone! today's AM tempo went well, though.
doin' time: i wasn't feelin' my run, and i also wasn't feelin' martha last night. specifically, i was not in the mood for the chicken i had planned. her winter section has many chicken recipes and i knew it might become challenging not to get sick of it (although to her credit, she really came up with a lot of variations -- from mexican to morrocan and beyond!). so instead i turned to the omelet master for help with an emergency backup dinner: broccoli & cheddar omelets, served with whole wheat naan, because we're international like that.
the omelet master at work
i was worried that my big pieces of broccoli would not allow for a structurally sound omelet, but the omelet master is seriously good at what he does, and it was perfect.
reading: well, no actual reading, but i spent considerable time finishing up the presentation i gave today. so that's good enough for me.
