sunny disposition

January 10, 2009

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. sleeping in and waking up when the sun has already risen = the. best. thing. ever. it’s a beautiful day outside and i am going to head out soon for a relaxing long run. there is nothing like working like a madwoman to make the days off seem that much sweeter. i don’t even need to be doing anything glamorous with my time to truly appreciate it — just having time to get my normal weekend tasks done without a rush is enough for me.

today’s plans
☑ 10 mile run in the sun (our high is 59 today — can’t complain!)
☑ après-run yoga
☑ laundry!
☑ plan next week’s martha-inspired culinary adventures
☑ the ceremonious weekly whole foods run
☑ a little bit of reading for work . . .
☑ catch up on desperate housewives!
☑ (late) holiday party with the UNC surgeons (josh’s peeps)

but not too much partying, though. i have to be in bed by 9 because i’m on call tomorrow!

yes, my life really is this exciting. believe it! enjoy your saturday, everyone! if you have any fun plans, share them – i’d love to live vicariously through you.

doin’ time: mmmmmm. another martha classic! garlic roasted chicken breasts served with broccoli rabe with pine nuts. the roasted garlic on the side was my favorite part!
and in case you are wondering, no, i did not eat that entire chicken breast. i definitely tend to have a good appetite for dinner (especially after working out!) but not THAT good. i have about half of it leftover and will try to do something creative with it for lunch today.

served with a yummy spanish grenache (check out the pink cork!)

floss check: yep.

reading: 20 minute on sepsis while the chicken roasted!

movie rec: we watched the other boelyn girl last night. i cried. i loved it. you will too.

Really? I hated The Other Boleyn Girl movie. Probably because the book is one of my favorites and it was not true to it at all.
