yesterday was filled with . . .

a lovely 7-mile run from my house to around haverford college and back. i really liked the route i plotted out and my polar was spot-on in agreement with mapmyrun.com for mileage. i was pretty speedy, too, completing the run in just under an hour.

a marathon brunch with my aunt, uncle, and cousins. i think they were here from 11 am until 5 pm with all of us just jabbering away. my 12-year old cousin demonstrated her gymnastics moves (she is very, very good) and we all sat around for hours drinking coffee and talking.

my 10-year high school reunion. it was interesting to see some people, but in general it was really loud and sort of weird. there were some people that i wished i had stayed in better touch with, but i would have wanted more time to catch up than just a shouted 3-minute conversation. i’m glad i went, though!

on an unrelated note:

i found an awesome cookbook at our house — everyday food‘s great food fast — and i ordered it from amazon. it has a great variety of seasonally-organized recipes and i think i might actually try to cook through it in 2009 — as in systematically make every recipe from the book! i have always wanted to make a cookbook from cover to cover — i feel like it would force me to learn new techniques, try things i wouldn’t ordinarily try (cornish hens, anyone?) and add instant variety to our dinners. obviously, i would be sharing my adventures with miss martha (stewart, of course) on this blog. and i know josh won’t complain . . .

I accidently went to my high school’s 10 year reunion on Friday night. My friends and I went to a local bar and the class of 98 was having their reunion. So weird, because I recognized some of them, but not enough to really know who they were. (I graduated in 96.)

I am sure that is what my reunion will be like, too. Dread.

You should email Bobbi your miles for pile on the miles. I am sure it’s not too late.

Yay for upcoming Half marathons. I’m running the OUC Half in Orlando.
