day 1 of neuro went well! clinic was manageable but interesting, and during some downtime in the morning we got to tour the EMG (electromyography) lab to see what happens to kids when you order them to be poked and shocked to test out peripheral nerves/muscles. i didn't get shocked, but the intern volunteered as guinea pig and i don't think it was particularly pleasant. i think it's cool to get some experience with the diagnostic tests we often order, so we know what the patients are getting into and can warn them and their parents! just don't ask me to undergo a VCUG!
not only was yesterday the start of a new rotation, it was also the start of the jewish new year. i am a very reluctant jew in the sense that i am sort of anti-religion in general (aaaaaand that's a whole other post that is not getting written this morning), but i will make exceptions for any holiday that simply involves delicious food, friends, and celebration.
as promised, some pictures . . . we had a great time!
my best running friend and her awesome husband, who threw this shindig
