it’s hard to whine about having to memorize things as pointless as HLA-alleles (if you don’t know what this means, trust me – it’s not worth worrying about) when there are thousands of people dead and millions homeless due to the recent indian ocean tsunamis. the death toll is rising (80,000 as of now) and conditions for those who made it through are treacherous. if you are feeling guilty (not that you should be, unless you control things like tectonic plate movement) or unfairly lucky as i am, there are many disaster relief funds that are in need of support; a list can be found here.
