so my sneaky surprise for josh’s 30th birthday went off without a hitch: his family flew in from all corners of the nation (well, miami & new york) to make an unexpected appearance at our dessert soiree last night. i am known for my horrendous ability to keep ‘fun-surprise’-type secrets to myself; i often give people their bday gifts several days early just because i can’t stand the suspense. but i managed to keep this one locked up tight, because i knew that if i told i would be letting everyone down.
the party was a success (i think), and i am happy because all of my desserts got devoured. i am also completely exhausted. celebration can be so taxing.
